I had sex with a Married women 2 years back, just one time.few days back she called me and said she is +ve for Herpes, she is asking (blaming) me whether i have Herpes or not.I told her she might have got it from her husband, she says my husband is not like you (I used to flirt alot) and i had sex with you and my husband only so it should come from you only.

I am not sure whether i have Herpes or not, I had some boold tests several times last year including HIV, no Doctor told me about it, my questions are

1) Is it possible to have Hepers without any symptoms for 2 years?

2) are Herpes test done in HIV tests also?

Whatever the answer I feel it is a requirement that you visit the clinic immediately and find out.

    1. most people(90%) with herpes (type II) do not know that they have it
    2. HSV typing tests are not usually done when you ask for STI/STD testing – including HIV

When you request a complete STD screening, HSV tests are rarely included. You have to specifically ask for the blood test. Yes, you can have Herpes without having ever had any symptoms.

You need to get tested, and your friend should also notify her husband and have him get tested as well.

You could have the herpes virus and no lesions. it is possible to spread herpes without an outbreak. It is doubtful that you would go for 2 years without any signs or outbreaks. As for your other question, no HSV (the herpes virus) is not tested with an HIV test. The best way to test for herpes is with a viral culture. All the doctor will do is swab the area or lesion, if you have any and the swab will be tested. The swab doesn’t get inserted anywhere, it only goes over the surface of the possibly infected area.

  5. No you have to ask for the herpes test.
You can carry the virus forever and never have an outbreak or symptoms.

My husband carried the virus and had no idea until I suddenly broke out with blisters so bad it put me in the hospital. He had no idea he had the virus. He still has not had an outbreak and I get them regularly.

This also means that her husband could have the virus and not have symptoms. It does not necessarily mean that she got it from you.

Get a blood test done from any doctor to find out for sure if you carry the virus and then you’ll have to inform anyone you have sexual contact with that you have it. Also if you have it, a condom won’t protect the other person from getting it as it can transfer from any genital area.

I RECOMMEND YOU GET BLOOD WORK DONE. IT’S POSSIBLE TO HAVE THE VIRUS AND NO SYMPTOMS. HERPES IS SO COMMON NOW THAT MAYBE SHE GOT IT FROM HER HUSBAND OR SOMEONE ELSE.

I SAY GO TO YOUR DOCTOR AND ASK FOR TEST FOR ALL STDS JUST TO MAKE SURE. HOPE YOU DON’T HAVE IT, BUT IF YOU DO, REMEMBER IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD. ABOUT 65% OF THE POPULATION HAVE IT. THAT’S MORE THAN HALF!!!!! AND THA’T A LOT. DON’T FEEL ALONE AND JUST IGNORE WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT IT, THEY ARE JUST IGNORANT.

    GOOD LUCK!!

    1. yes i think asymotomatic herpes is possible

    2. if they didn’t specifically say you were negative, assume the didn’t test for it

also genital herpes can be caused by herpes from other areas, like cold sores on the lips, or some people even get cold sores on their hands and fingers, have you considered this possibility.

My gut feeling says her husband is also cheating
